Geodesic's Award-Winning Great circle Soon to be Available on Linux

CHICAGO, IL - April 12, 1999 - Geodesic Systems, Inc. announces today that their memory management product, Great Circle, will be available to Linux users by the end of May. Great Circle will give Linux C/C++ developers the state-of-the-art memory management technology to allow them to reduce their application development costs, increase revenue, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Customer concerns regarding the general lack of memory management products available for Linux led Geodesic to release a Linux version of Great Circle. ``Geodesic prides itself on being the leader in memory management solutions for C/C++,'' said Carl Rosenberg, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. ``With more organizations moving to Linux it makes sense that Geodesic should offer memory management products to serve their needs.''

In the process of testing Great Circle for Linux, the Geodesic development team made a startling discovery. ``We were able to isolate and correct around a hundred memory leaks within Enlightenment, a window manager for Gnome,'' stated Mike Spertus, Chief Technology Officer at Geodesic Systems. ``The idea to test Great Circle with Enlightenment came from our customers who have experienced similar results on other platforms where X-Windows was used.''

>From design to deployment, Great Circle provides unique benefits which make it a complete memory management solution. During development, Great Circle allows prototyping of pre-alpha software that has yet to be debugged. During testing and debugging, Great Circle finds more leaks than other debuggers without slowing down the application. During deployment, Great Circle ensures the application is safe from memory leaks that may have slipped through during testing or are the result of third-party libraries.
