Date: Wed, 5 May 1999 07:07:26 +0200 (CEST) From: Peter Toft <pto@sslug.dk> To: lwn@lwn.net Subject: Open Networks 99 update SSLUG (www.sslug.dk), one of the Scandinavien Linux User groups, held a conference Open Networks 99 last weekend together with DKUUG (the Danish Unix User Group - www.dkuug.dk). The conference was well attended, and there were a lot of interesting talks. Most of the talks were given in Danish or Swedish, but a few were in English. Among these were talks by Miguel De Icaza about GNOME, Kalle Dalheimer about KDE, werner Koch about GnuPG, Jes S=F8rensen about Gigabit networks, and Mattias Wingstedt about the Roxen webserver. The conference was a great succes, with many interresting thing happening around in the corners. Many BOFs, posters and discussions were held, and a lot of cuddly penguins were sold be the exhibitors. Many ideas were born, and new code will arise from the thoughts and discussions that happened durings the conference. Most of the talks from Open Networks 99 can be found as realvideo sessions.
