These crashes are typically seen while running the X Window System or the Kaffe JVM. Critical parts of the kernel were miscompiled by the egcs compiler causing system instability. Fixed egcs packages are available for users that wish to build their own kernels. Users wishing to build UltraSPARC kernels will need to upgrade the egcs64 package.
