Enoch is poised to become the ultimate performance Linux for the PC architecture, featuring 5 pgcc-optimized builds for Intel Pentium, Pentium Pro/II/III and AMD K6 series processors, really nice colorized initscripts, a full package autobuild system, and very up-to-date packages. With 0.6, we now have a fully-functional development environment, pre-built kernels for booting IDE and SCSI-based systems, a nice new installer script and many more packages. We are looking for developers and power users who are interested in helping us track down security-related problems (like wrong file permissions) and fix autobuild quirks. Approximately 90% of Enoch's packages recompile under Enoch itself without a hitch -- once we get this number to 100%, we will release Enoch 0.7, which will be the first Enoch that is able to fully recompile itself. We are very close to this goal. After we do this, we will begin work towards 0.9, which will feature X along with a full suite of X apps.
