The Berlin Consortium is proud to announce its 0.1.0 release of Berlin. Berlin is an experimental windowing system which is a logical extension of the integrated layout and structured graphics model developed in InterViews and Fresco. It makes heavy use of CORBA for transparent inter-process control, and utilizes a loadable module framework to maintain good drawing speed and extensive customizabillity. Berlin is covered by the LGPL and is developed by volunteers of the free software community. It is implemented with CORBA / multithreaded C++ and uses GGI and Mesa as the underlaying graphic architecture.
