7. Problem description:

linuxconf 1.14r4, as shipped with Red Hat Linux 6.0, can be confused
when other packages (such as samba, wu-ftpd, bind, etc.) that is can
configure are added or removed. In addition, some bind and dhcpd
configuration files were not correctly parsed, and linuxconf's
sendmail configuration could incorrectly generate new sendmail.cf
files.

8. Solution:

For each RPM for your particular architecture, run:

rpm -Uvh <filename>

where <filename> is the name of the RPM.

The linuxconf-devel package is optional; it is only needed to
develop new linuxconf modules. If you do not install the new
linuxconf-devel but still have the old linuxconf-devel installed,
use the command:

rpm -e linuxconf-devel

so that you do not have out-of-sync packages.

9. Verification:

tampered with, examine only the md5sum with the following command:

rpm --checksig --nopgp <filename>
