                  NEW RELEASES
                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~
PCI based S514 Card availability
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
September 3rd 1999

The PCI based S514 card is in production, availability in quantity later this
month. See http://www.sangoma.com/514.htm. The card has significant
performance improvements over the ISA based S508, particularly in the area
of bus throughput.

The card is available in two versions:

a. A dual port version with one main 4Mpbs port and one auxiliary 512kbps
   port. Both ports fully support RS232 and V.35/X.21/EIA530.

B. A quad port version with two sets of interfaces as described in
   a. above. In the case of the quad port version, dual sets of CPUs and on
   board memory, essentially make the card operate just like two separate
   entities. For instance, it is possible to run X.25 on one main 4Mbps
   port, and Cisco HDLC on the second main port and second auxiliary port.

North American retail prices including main port cabling are as follows:

S5141 One CPU, Dual port card $599.00
S5142 Dual CPU Quad port card $859.00

Initially, drivers will be available for Linux, supporting Frame relay and
Cisco HDLC. Support for other operating systems and protocols will follow
shortly.

WANPIPE=99 versions 2.06 and 2.07 for Linux 2.2.x.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
August 30th 1999
There were three releases in the summer to update our Linux 2.2.X support.
Most of the changes were made to improve the ease of installation, although
there were some bug fixes and new functions added:
o  Better error handling in startup scripts. We have replaced cryptic
   error messages with more understandable statements.
o  Fixed installation bugs that were in 2.0.5.
o  Kernel patch works for both 2.2.10 and 2.2.11 kernels.
o  CHDLC initialization bug fix.
o  PPP interrupt driven driver: Fix to the PPP line hangup problem.
   Version 2.0.5 used the same PPP code as 2.0.4, but it was found
   to be unreliable on the 2.2.x kernels.
o  PPP firmware change.
o  Added comments in English to the startup SYSTEM ERROR messages.
o  Xpipemon debugging application for the X25 router. The XPIPE router
   for Linux had no monitor program such as fpipemon or cpipemon.
o  New, more useful USER_MANUAL.txt.
o  Fixed the odd boundary 4 byte writes to the board. This fixes an ISA
   bus data integrity problem on some AMD and IBM chipsets.
o  BiSync Streaming code has been taken out.  Available as a
   patch.
o  Streaming HDLC API has been taken out.  Available as a
   patch.
Windows=AE NT X.25 API version 1.1.0
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
August 21st

Version 1.1 of the XPIPE API for NT fixes a number of stability and
operational bugs on version 1.0.2.

The API allows simultaneous operation of XPIPE IP and IPX routing over
certain LCNs while transparent user traffic can be transmitted over other
LCNs. The API is event driven and provides notification of all network
events to the different calling applications.
