Armed Linux Releases First Distribution CD

AUSTIN, TX - September, 05, 1999 - Armed Linux launched its first full
release distribution on CD. The current shipping version is Armed Linx
Workstation Beta 1.1, and is available for purchase through their web
site <http://www.armed.net>;. Financial transactions are being processed
by CCNOW <http://www.ccnow.com>;. The cost of the CD is $9.99 plus
shipping and contains Armed Linux Workstation Beta 1.1, linux
documentation, and a host of General Public Licence (GPL) software.

The Armed Linux product is a full Linux operating system distribution
that has been customized to install on top of versions of Microsoft
Windows or any version of DOS. Positioned toward the new or beginning
Linux user, the beta version of their product has been available from
their web site for two months. Initial reaction to the product has been
more that favorable, bridging a gap in the Linux market for first time
users.

The final release version of the workstation release is due Fall, 1999.
A server version has been anounced and is currently under development.
Armed Linux Server should release to the public Fall, 1999. Downloads of
distributions are free via the Internet from the Armed Linux web site or
through its software mirror partners, Linuxberg

OEM, custom, and corporate branded versions are available.

Armed Linux Workstation comes with the newest updates and patches. It is
also preconfigured to recognize and load drivers for most supported
hardware. It comes bundled with the popular Enlightenment desktop
<http://www.enlightenment.org>;, productivity, Internet, and multimedia
applications. A custom first run script helps tune the installation to
the user's computer and preferences.

Armed Linux, a small group of professional developers, has experience in
software and web design and support. Currently unfunded, they are open
