Subject: [Announce] LinuxPPC Inc. releases Netscape Communicator Complete

MADISON, Wisc. -- October 6, 1999 -- LinuxPPC Inc. has released Netscape
Communicator Complete Edition for LinuxPPC and other glibc2-based versions
of Linux/PPC. The new Netscape features security fixes, new 56-bit DES
ciphers, export-grade encryption, and various bug fixes.

The development of Netscape Communicator for the LinuxPPC platform is one
part of LinuxPPC Inc.'s leadership role on the Linux/PPC platform.  Daniel
Puertas <dpuertas@linuxppc.com>, the company's Chief Technical Officer and
Silicon Valley representative, maintains the port, and works with Netscape
staff members in bringing Communicator to LinuxPPC.

Installing Netscape Communicator 4.7

Netscape Communicator 4.7 is available in RPM format from
<ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/ftp/linuxppc-1999/updates/netscape-4.7-1.ppc.rpm>;,
and from the world-wide network of LinuxPPC mirror sites. Please see
<http://www.linuxppc.com/mirrors/>; to locate an FTP mirror that is
geographically close to you.

If you already have Netscape Communicator 4.6 installed, you can upgrade
to the new version with the rpm command using the -Uvh flags.  (rpm -Uvh
netscape-4.7-1.ppc.rpm)  If you do not have an older version of Netscape
Communicator installed, install 4.7 using rpm -hvi netscape-4.7-1.ppc.rpm.
