My target is the <10 year old children. I started this after helping my wife set up the computers in her classroom. She is a second grade teacher (in Orange County, california). I wanted to install Linux on some computers I am donating, but I couldn't complete this project due to the lack of software geared toward this age group. I am hoping to generate enough interest that programmers will start writing more games for children. Since I am a programmer, I have started on a couple of math games myself. As she teaches bilingual children, and for the benefit of the Linux community at large, I will try to get, as much as possible, software that can be easily ported to a different language. I am aware of the SEUL project and other educational efforts, which I listed on the web site. I would appreciate if you could mention LinuxForKids on LWN, which by the way I wait for impatiently every thursday ! Keep up the good work. Chris Ellec.
