Subject: KRASH release: frozen!
Date:   Mon, 15 Nov 1999 12:31:55 +0100

This weeks topics:

* kdelibs is completely frozen. No additions or changes to the API as
of now! Small bug-fixes can still be applied. Fixes with a possible
larger impact should be discussed on kde-core-devel first.

* kdebase and koffice are feature frozen. This means that no new
features should be added and that we should focus on testing and fixing
bugs.

* It is being considered to speed up the release with _TWO WEEKS_. This
would mean that we release at 1 Dec. instead of 15 Dec. Please let me
know if you think this causes problems for you.

* KRASH will be based on the Qt snapshot of 9-Nov-1999. Available from
ftp://ftp.troll.no/pub/qt/snapshots/qt-2.1.0-snapshot-19991109.tar.gz

New features can be added and further extensions to the API of
kdelibs can be made _AFTER_ KRASH has been released.

GOAL OF THE KRASH (1.89) RELEASE
================================

* Stabilize development.
* Offer third party developers a convenient way to become familair with
Qt2.x / KDE 2.x

REMARKS
=======

KRASH will be alpha quality software. It is not recommended to use
KRASH for daily work. Although the API of KRASH should be relatively
stable, CHANGES will be made to it before the final KDE 2.0 release.
It is not recommended to release applications based on this release.
Distributors should NOT SHIP this release without providing a stable
and complete version of KDE as well.
