"LASER5 LINUX 6.0" HAS BECOME THE BEST SELLER IN JAPAN,
AND HAD THE NO.1 PLACE IN THE DOMESTIC SALES OF OS PRODUCTS.

LASER5 Co.,Ltd.(Kowa Bldg3 2fl, 5-6-12 Soto-Kanda, Chiyoda-Ku, CEO
Toshiyuki Kubota) announced that the Linux package "LASER5 Linux 6.0",
which was released on Sept. 17, got the the first place of domestic sales
volume in two weeks from Sept. 20 to Oct. 2.

No one, including other Linux package and also Windows 98, was above
the LASER5 Linux in sales volume which means No.1 in total OS sales.

As to this consequence, our CEO Kubota understands that the superiority
on the functions and operations is accepted by customers.
It is really our pleasure to know that customers realised that the Linux is
another means to replace the Windows, and the domestic distribution for
Linux is superior to the major foreign brands.
CEO Kubota expressed "We are grateful to the community who has
promoted Linux and to all users of LASER5 Linux.  I and all of our staffs
will work hard to achieve the good distribution which is easy for customers
to use."

More than 700,000 copies of "LASER5 Linux 6.0", which was released on
Sept. 17, was distributed in Japanese market.(Data, October 1999)

    which shows No.6 place of LASER5 Linux 6 in the software sold and
    the N0.1 place in OS sales.

### LASER5 Linux.
This is the Linux distribution developped from the know-how which
LASER5 has got through the promotion and domestic sales of Linux
products since
November 1993. LASER5 Linux is an OS compatible with the
Red Hat Linux(tm) and expanded to match with Japanese language
environments.
Almost all commercial Linux applications and domestic Linux commercial

The intuitive operation of drag & drop etc has become possible through
the advanced desk-top environments by GNOME/KDE.
The automatic recognition of FIFE and customization of environment is
easy! The operation of Windows has become easy and comfortable.
Japanese Menu:  Approximately 300,000 words of GNOME/KDE menu
and help file are translated into Japanese and published.

The original distribution of "LASER5 Linux 6.0" was released on Sept.
17, 1999.
The "LASER5 Linux 6.0" is a compatible distribution of Red Hat Linux
6.0 handled by Red Hat USA, and also a super clone with original
improvement.The sales of LASER5 Linux in September 1999 (as of the
3rd week) is No.6 place in all of software products.
LASER5 Linux surpasses the Windows 98 second edition and other
Linux distributions in the sales volume of package OS and has become
No.1 in the market by securing around 40% of shares for the domestic
Linux OS currently.

Main Business of LASER5 To develop the original distribution "LASER5
Linux". To support Red Hat Linux. Beowulf cluster super-computer.
