LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 nominated for Macworld magazine's Editor's Choice Award

First version of Linux to be nominated for the Mac industry's highest award.

In a stunning development, LinuxPPC Inc.'s LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 distribution
has been nominated for Macworld magazine's Editor's Choice Award. Macworld
magazine, the premier Macintosh monthly, holds its annual contest, with
the winners will be announced at a special event on the first night of
Macworld Expo San Francisco- Wednesday, January 5, 2000.

The Eddy Awards, the Macintosh industry's highest distinction for
breakthrough product development, are given to honor the top software and
hardware products in 26 categories. LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 is the first version
of the Linux operating system ever to be nominated for the award.

"We're simply amazed and honored," said Jason Haas, marketing director at
LinuxPPC. "This is a huge win for us and the LinuxPPC community." Haas
went on at some length, thanking the editors of Macworld magazine, Linus
Torvalds, and his wife.

LinuxPPC 1999 Q3 was nominated in the Internet Server Software category,
along with Apple's QuickTime Streaming Server software, and StarNine
Technologies' WebSTAR Server Suite 4.0.
