Volker is working on the new cluster manager, and Marcelo is doing great work on network mirroring. David Jules is ensuring we work properly on Mandrake Linux. David Martinez is working on a cool GUI configuration tool. Matt Soffen is making good progress on his FreeBSD port. At this point, we join Wensong Zhang's LVS project as the premier distribution-independent open development High-Availability projects. We've just put out an official version of heartbeat 0.4.6, and a new beta version called 0.4.6a. 0.4.6 is a stable release with lots of simple bug fixes, but it also adds monitoring of serial line status, and enabling of flow control. 0.4.6a is the first beta in the 0.4.7 series. It turns off /proc/ha support, and has what I think is the complete error correction protocol (famous last words :-)). I'll add some specific test stubs in a later beta so it can be more easily proven out. This code is very important to get right. Anyone with a perverse and wicked mindset and no respect for the dignity of a piece of software could be of great help here! Since we're a community-based development effort, we are always looking for good people to help us in development, documentation, requirements, testing, web design, and lots and lots of other ways. Come join the fun! As always, let us know if you have problems. You can find them all in the usual place: http://linux-ha.org/download/ -- Alan Robertson alanr@bell-labs.com
