Ashland, Mass., November 15, 1999/Press Release/ -- At COMDEX in Las
Vegas, Network Concierge today demonstrated their second generation
(V2) server appliance software for use by corporate system
administrators, internet service providers, small business owners,
small/home office workers and multi-PC households. The software CD
will be available for ordering directly from the company website on
December 15, 1999, including a free ($10 S&H) evaluation
copy. Customers can also purchase a copy with a perpetual license for
$49, which will include a free upgrade to the final V2 software. After
a 90-day beta period, the final release of V2 will be priced at $99 to
continue Network Concierge’s tradition of delivering the most easy
to use, affordable and feature-rich server appliance solution.

New V2 Features
Major new features include Linux kernel 2.2.13 using the
Linux-Mandrake (Red Hat compatible) distribution and VPN server
support using IPsec and 3DES encryption. VPN will permit Extranets
using secure tunneling through the public Internet, including support
for road warriors. In addition to improved performance, other new
features include network support for use of standard phone lines and
gigabit ethernet, WINS support, Windows and Frontpage 2000 support,
ISP web-hosting capability, multiple internet domain support, web
aliasing, transparent proxy web caching, enhanced email and SCSI/NIC
support, etc. "By leveraging the power of Linux with our easy-to-use
graphical user interface and configuration wizard, Network Concierge
continues to successfully deliver user-friendly solutions that the
customer can afford without having to acquire expensive proprietary
hardware or technical support" according to Leonardo Salazar Sr., Vice
President of Marketing. "We continue to lead the server appliance
industry with our unique feature-rich software business model that
allows for customer choice of hardware platform vendor and appliance
functions that are best suited for their business needs".

About The Product
Network Concierge software converts embedded, standard or rackmount
PCs into easy to use network-ready gateway/servers. Installing or
upgrading the software takes less time and is similar to installing
Windows on a standard PC, while network configuration is performed
with a Setup Wizard using a standard browser. For those that do not
wish to build-it-yourself, ready to use out-of-the-box solutions that
can be deployed in less than 15 minutes will soon be available from
Network Concierge Partners & Resellers worldwide.

Network Concierge powered appliances offer significantly better
price/performance than any other server appliance product on the
market. Unlike other server appliance platforms, Network Concierge
software supports dual network configurations and offers the most
comprehensive set of features/functions in the industry, which can be
enabled as required by the customer. In the Small Business
configuration, the appliance platform running Network Concierge
software can connect an unlimited number of IP-enabled clients to the
Internet via analog/ISDN/DSL/Cable modem or NIC connection. Built-in
DHCP, DNS and NAT services automatically create an instant
client-server network or network segment without having to install
software on the clients. When used in the Work Group configuration,
the network appliance platform becomes a network-ready server that you
simply plug into a pre-existing network. In either configuration, the
software comes with an e-mail server, print/file server, web server
and web-caching engine to provide all server functions required by a
small network. Additional features supported include an automatic
firewall, multi-disk/CD management, cascading multiple servers on same
network, UPS, SMP, etc. Comparable features to the Network Concierge
can only be found in very expensive and complex multi-vendor
client-server solutions made up of network equipment stacks and/or
general purpose Windows/Unix servers that demand highly skilled and/or
dedicated technical support personnel.

About The Company
Network Concierge created the industry's first build-it-yourself Thin
Server Linux software. A build-it-yourself version with a full set of
features/functions is sold directly to endusers and resellers via its
website. In addition, an OEM version with customized
features/functions is licensed to leading equipment vendors that offer
it (pre-configured) on their highly reliable hardware platforms with
worldwide service. Formed in 1998, the Network Concierge group is part
of a 10-year old privately held computer engineering corporation with
its headquarters in Massachusetts, USA. For more information check out
