Strategic investment gives Corel stellar support capability for its Linux® offerings Ottawa, Canada—December 22, 1999—Corel Corporation (NASDAQ: CORL, TSE: COR) today announced that it has acquired an ownership stake in LinuxForce Inc., of Philadelphia. Corel has acquired one third of LinuxForce, with a three-year option to increase the ownership position to two-thirds. Corel® WordPerfect® 8 for Linux® has been hugely successful as a download, and Corel's WordPerfect Office for Linux suite will be available in early 2000.
