The Linux(r) Show!! (TLS) has come to an agreement to serve as the official "Broadcast Sponsor" of LinuxFest2000, June 20 through 24, 2000 in Overland Park, Kansas (Suburban Kansas City). The Linux(r) Show!! (TLS) is the flagship show on the new GeekCast.Com Network, and is the number one rated and longest running Linux focused Webcast in the US (and probably the world). TLS broadcasts weekly shows for the greater Linux community as an opportunity for people to voice opinions and get a chance to interact directly with linux users from around the world. TLS has listeners in every state in the US and has had listeners from 17 different nations around the world. The LinuxFest trade show will be held at the Overland Park International Trade Center and will feature over 60,000 square feet of trade show display space and a four day seminar track. The Linux(r) Show!! will broadcast live to the greater Linux world from the TLS Pavilion on the floor of the Expo, featuring end to end coverage of the event. The TLS broadcast will include interviews of todays leading Linux community members and executives of leading Linux vendors. Jeff Gerhardt, host of The Linux(r) Show!! noted, "this event will be a great deal of fun for us at TLS. Not only are we going to have a major presence at the expo, but we are taking an active role in promoting and helping produce the event as the main Broadcast Sponsor. In addition, we are also going to act as official hosts and help to coordinate some of the social events associated with the event." "This will be a major technology event...", according to Greg Palmer, President of Mobius Marketing, producer of LinuxFest, " LinuxFest will demonstrate the power of Linux and Open Source Software for IT and business owners across the US and specifically the heartland of America and we appreciate the partnership that The Linux(r) Show!! brings to this event." Recent spectacular IPO's by Red Hat, VA Linux, Cobalt and Andover.net have taken the stock market by storm and LinuxFest2000 will be the first opportunity for many in the Midwest to see what the excitement is all about. Major well known companies like IBM, Compaq, Informix and Oracle have committed to Linux, however most people are exposed to Linux on a daily basis, because Linux powers much of the World Wide Web. Most of the established major Linux companies will be represented, plus many startup cutting edge companies will also be in attendance.
