LinuxLinks (http://www.linuxlinks.com/) reached just over 8,000 verified LinuxLinks after the new Millennium.
This represents a rapid increase in the number of new links entered into database per month
and further demonstrates the continuing expansion of quality websites on the net covering Linux.

Given the large number of sites, LinuxLinks now features a web-site on a daily basis. The featured site
is selected from those sites at LinuxLinks which have been highly rated by our reviewers or strongly

Recommendations for sites not in the list are welcome. LinuxLinks now also features a Java chatroom -

In a related development, the FirstLinux network (http://www.firstlinux.com/) has expanded the number of distributions
covered in its package guide. The package guide contains detailed information about the content of packages for the most
popular Linux distributions and enables visitors to determine just what distribution contains their favorite applications.
Mandrake Linux and Caldera Open Linux are now covered by the database and further distributions
are currently being added.

LinuxLinks is updated daily and is in a constant state of development. The latest project is the development of
partial spidering of the LinuxLinks database - this is a hybrid web spider and will improve the depth of search
available from the LinuxLinks search engine.
