Subject: Announcement and Request for Developers: The LNX System

Dear Sir,

I'm writing to inform you of the existence of a new Linux/GNU environment
in development, called the LNX System, or LNXS. We aim to be a
well-engineered and well-documented system, which attempts to draw from
the best practices of other systems, and develop better practices where
only poor ones exist. One of our goals is to document our design using
the IETF RFC document format; as such, you will find enclosed wherewith
RFC 0000, a statement of our long-term goals. Also, we are in great need
of developers; the following is a list of things we need people to do
which I compiled quickly.

Needed Developers & Teams:

N.B. These are all volunteer developer positions, as this is a
volunteer, not-for-profit project. There is no formal application
process; just join the list, start contributing, and show competence.

     * System Designers: Especially people with lots of experience in
systems administration and management, and lots of wishes for
       things that could be better.
     * Technical Writers: People who can effectively render technical
designs into terse English, especially good with system designer
       or development skills.
     * CVS & Build Team: People who preferably have experience with
       writing sophisticated Makefiles and managing a CVS repository;
knowledge of BSD source build system, autoconf, automake, and PVM
       plusses.
     * Team for developing "Project Nehalem" or gsmit. We need people
with skills or interests in any or all of the following areas:
+ LDAP development with C or Perl
          + Ncurses development with C
+ Parser development with C and flex/bison (for config files)
+ Object design for system services.
     * UNIX System C Programmers, Debuggers and Quality Assurers:
Generally, people who can help write utilities, build packages,
figure out why things won't work, track bugs, and squish them.
     * People with good, new ideas: To be better we have to have new
ideas--new, better ways of doing things, and know of old, better
ways of doing things. Please share them with us if you have them.
     * Angel Capitalists or Investing Companies: Hey Linux is hot! Get in
one the Big New Thing! Pay us to develop and we can quit our day
       jobs!

Thanks,
Wil
