Qarbon.com’s "Viewlets" Change FAQs And Help Files Into Live, Vivid “How To”
Demonstrations:

Viewlets Provide Consumers And Business Users With A New Experience For
Answering Thousands Of Questions About The Internet And Software
Applications

(PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA-January 25, 2000)-Qarbon.com, a San Jose,
California Internet start-up, announced the immediate availability of
“Viewlets,” a Web innovation that changes help files and FAQs into vivid and
dramatic "How To" demonstrations. Created to provide Internet consumers and
business users with a next generation of demonstrative help and information
content, Qarbon.com (www.qarbon.com) launched Viewlets at Upside Events’
Showcase.

“Viewlets show consumers, in a clear and unique way, how to perform simple
to complex computing tasks such as unzipping files, using Instant Messenger,
defragmenting a hard drive, changing email preferences and thousands more,”
said Qarbon’s CEO John Marshall. “For business users, Viewlets demonstrate
how to install new software, meet network sign-on requirements, complete HR
forms and hundreds of other business-related computing and navigating tasks.
The great thing is that Viewlets are free and almost anyone can create a
Viewlet.”

The company’s syndication business model establishes Qarbon.com as a Viewlet
infomediary that invites webmasters to freely place Viewlets on their sites.
At the same time, Qarbon.com aids and encourages individuals to create a
wide variety of Viewlets with the company’s free Viewlet development tool.
Web sites playing Viewlets and authors of the web’s newest innovation
participate in an advertising-based revenue sharing opportunity.

Development and distribution of Viewlets is supported by three web sites,
teach2earn.com, qarbon.com and viewhow2.com, all dedicated to syndicating
Viewlets.
Teach2earn.com is the syndication engine that delivers a wide array of
Viewlets categorized for webmasters to easily place Viewlets on their sites.
Fueling the syndication engine is a growing inventory of Viewlets
independently developed through a highly motivated development program.
Qarbon.com is the home base for general Viewlet information. The third
supporting site, viewhow2.com, provides consumers a place to find Viewlets
based on multiple criteria.
Examples where Viewlets can be used range from MP3 player software to
demonstration of Linux tools. Viewlets enhance any web site, intranet or
extranet. Minimizing frustrations and repeated questions, Viewlets "How To"
pictures, reduce technical support calls and create good will with
consumers, vendors, employees or anyone with network access.

“We are inviting anyone who wants to make a Viewlet to come to our site,
download the tool and find out how easy it is to create a Viewlet and in
many cases begin to make money,” continued Marshall. The company offers a
cash reward program for participation in a commercial Viewlet program. “For
approved Viewlets,” said Marshall, “we have a cash bonus program and the
opportunity to receive continued revenues every time a Viewlet is played.”

At Showcase, Qarbon.com played Viewlets placed at www.pcsupport.com,
www.garageband.com and www.petfoodexpress.com. Viewlets at PCSupport.com can
be found at the company’s Learning Center. A MP3 “How to” viewlet plays
within Garageband.com in the Help section and the PetFoodExpress viewlet can
be played after users access a shopping cart. More Viewlets are available
under “Viewlet demos” at www.qarbon.com.
