The Perl course, which Netizen believe is the first Perl training to be run in Brisbane, addresses a growing need for Open Source training in the region, which is fast becoming a hub of Open Source and Internet business activity. "We've already had quite a lot of interest in the course," said Netizen CEO and training co-ordinator Kirrily Robert, who also noted that Brisbane's IT industry usually had far less training available than some other states. Netizen currently run training in Perl programming, CGI and web databases, Introductory Unix, and Internet Fundamentals, and have a training presence in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as providing corporate and on-site training.
