FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LINEO SHIPS EMBEDIX BROWSER FOR X86

Lineo Releases Market's First Linux-Based, OEM-Brandable Embedded Browser

HANNOVER, GERMANY / CEBIT - Feb 23, 2000 - Lineo, Inc., the leading
developer of embedded Linux system software, today announced that Lineo
Embedix Browser for x86 is immediately available to OEM developers. This
product is the first Linux-based browser that is completely brandable by
the OEM, providing seamless integration between the device hardware and
software, and complete brand and identiy freedom to both the OEM and their
business customers.

Embedix Browser supports a broad range of features including Legal SSL,
which supports 40-bit and 128-bit security encryption, making it ideal
for applications allowing users to interface with organizations that
require the use of browsers with a specified security level. For example,
banks and investment companies often require customers to use browsers that
support a minimum of 40-bit encryption to be able to view account
information. Embedix Browser is the only embedded browser that supports
128-bit encryption.

"The broad combination of features and functionality of Embedix Browser
makes it the most complete embedded browser on the market," said Bryan
Sparks, CEO of Lineo, Inc. "Embedix Browser offers Internet appliance
manufacturers an easy interface and configuration tool to connect their
devices to the Internet."

Additionally, Embedix Browser allows OEMs and their business customers
to own and control the end user experience by allowing the OEM to determine
the steps a user must take to use the browser such as selecting a standard
homepage, etc. This is particularly attractive for companies that are
designing browsers for specific purposes such as an e-commerce kiosk
interface, ATM, or single-purpose set-top devices.

Other features supported by Embedix Browser include support for tables,
frames and animated gifs which allow the page to be viewed as it was
designed to be seen without any distortion. Embedix Browser includes
anti-alias font rendering and double byte character support (DBCS), which
allow users to see text more clearly and view Asian fonts. Embedix Browser
is HTML 3.2 compliant and supports Java scripting.

Hardware Requirements
Embedix Browser requires 16 MB of RAM and 8 MB of storage space, either
Flash or hard disk space. It also requires a VESA 2.0-compliant video
card and a pentium class or higher microprocessor.

Pricing and Availability
Embedix Browser is available immediately to OEMs. As with Lineo's other
products, pricing for Embedix Browser follows traditional OEM pricing
models and scales according to volume, components licensed, custom
development needs, support requirements and other factors. Please contact a
Lineo OEM sales associate for a customized quote via e-mail at
