		LUFOG Presents

		ERIC S. RAYMOND

	     Monday, February 28th
		    4:10pm
		Packard Lab 101

Eric Raymond (ESR), hacker, writer and open-source proponent,
will be at Lehigh University on February 28th to give a lecture
on the open-source movement. He is widely recognized as one
of the foremost minds in open-source software and ideas. Several
of his writings Source have been compiled into a book titled
"The Cathedral & The Bazaar" which has become one of the most
popular titles on Linux and Open Source.

O'Reilly publishing explains, "After Red Hat's stunning IPO,
even people outside the computer industry have now heard of
Linux and open-source software. This book contains the essays,
originally published online, that led to Netscape's decision
to release their browser as open source, put Linus Torvalds
on the cover of Forbes Magazine and Microsoft on the defensive,
and helped Linux to rock the world of commercial software."

Why is Microsoft losing market share? How can the most popular
and reliable web-server available be free? What's all this buzz
about Linux and Open Source? Where does the future of software
and the Internet lie?

Come to Lehigh University on February 28th and find out. All are
welcome and invited.
