The "mBedded Server" supports Sun Microsystems' Jini Technology, as well as the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), and allows the simple networking and Internet connection of various terminal devices, such as handheld computers, printers, PCs, mobile phones, television sets, stereo systems, refrigerators, heating and air-conditioning systems and alarm systems, etc. The ProSyst "mBedded Server" has a memory requirement of just 99 KB, meaning it can be installed in any device (e.g. modem, router or set-top box). From there, the "mBedded Server" can provide all other devices in a home network with a host of services, such as Internet, E-Mail, software updates and administration functions. With its Jini Server and the 4 KB Jini Client already developed a year ago, which even fits in the memory of common chip-cards, ProSyst is focussing on a market for which analysts and market researchers forecast glowing growth potential. One of ProSyst's primary goals is to further develop this market, also on an international scale, and not only with its own branches, such as the Atlanta/Georgia office, but also via cooperation with partner companies, such as equipment manufacturers, content providers und Internet Service Providers. Only recently, SAP AG acquired a holding in ProSyst via its Venture Capital Fund. The ProSyst "mBedded Server" is a base technology for networking devices in private households and businesses. Internet-based services and business applications can be accessed via the Jini Server and distributed to various terminal devices in a home network. In this way, home-banking can be realised on a gaming console, to name just one example. At the same time, the "mBedded Server" also serves as a platform for developing Jini Client applications. In addition to Admin Service, Jini Container Service and Jini Lookup Service, Web Service, eMail Service and eBusiness Service will also be available.
