VariCAD company the developer of one of the few professional CAD systems
which is running under Linux released new version 7. 3. - 0. 0. in
February, 16 2000. 

As the company has recently become OpenDWG Sustaining Member,
VariCAD is now able to export and import AutoCAD DWG format as the first
professional CAD system under Linux. The other improvement is that VariCAD
mechanical parts libraries contain new DIN parts now. 

AutoCAD 9-2000

VariCAD is a professional CAD system primarily intended for mechanical
2D/3D designing and modeling. VariCAD consists of tools for 3D modeling,
tools for solid analysis,  DXF, DWG, IGES formats, tools for solids
generation from 2D objects,  tools for associative dimensioning,
mechanical parts libraries, symbol libraries,  tools for sheet metal,
OpenGL for Linux and Windows, BOM, calculations, etc.
