Subject: Linmodem-0.2.5 is available !

Linmodem-0.2.5 is available at
http://www.enst.fr/~bellard/linmodem.html.

It is a major update of the linmodem project. It is close to being
usable as a real modem for low speeds (V21/V23), and the V34 code has
greatly improved (although it is not usable yet). Here are the current
features:

- V34 modulator.
- V34 demodulator including T/3 adaptive equalizer, but no echo
cancellor yet.
- Algebraic part of V90.
- DTMF dialing/receive.
- V8 protocol.
- V21 modulation & demodulation.
- V23 modulation & demodulation.
- sample code to test V21, V22, V23, V34 and V90 independently from the
modem.
- a basic phone line simulator (with echos & typical line
amplitude/phase distortion) with a complete modem simulation.
- an X11 interface with graphics of important parameters (QAM
constellation, real time FFT of the received signal, equalizer display).
- soundcard interface (test should be possible between two PCs connected
by a soundcard)
- AT command parser & sample tty simulator.
- asynchronous protocol for V21 & V23.

I decided to release this snapshot before it is actually tested with
real modems because some people may be interested to look at its current
state since there was major API modifications. If you have two Linux PCs
connected with soundcards, I am interested to know your results.
