From: Paul Mackerras <paulus@linuxcare.com> To: linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu Subject: pppd beta release, supports multilink Date: Fri, 14 Apr 2000 15:15:54 +1000 For those of you who want to try out the multilink capability of the new PPP driver in the 2.3.99pre kernels, I have made a beta release of pppd which includes multilink support. It is available at ftp://linuxcare.com.au/pub/ppp/ppp-2.4.0b1.tar.gz This release should also fix the problems people have been having with demand dialling. To use multilink, you basically just run two instances of pppd. Assuming you are dialling an ISP, you obviously need two separate serial ports, modems and phone lines. You would invoke pppd the same way for the two links (except for the different device name and possibly different connect script), and you would need to give the `multilink' option to pppd. -- Paul Mackerras, Senior Open Source Researcher, Linuxcare, Inc. +61 2 6262 8990 tel, +61 2 6262 8991 fax paulus@linuxcare.com.au, http://www.linuxcare.com.au/ Linuxcare.
