RT-CONTROL DELIVERS NEW RELEASE
OF UCLINUX SYSTEM BUILDER KIT

Rt-Control Delivers Linux On The Widest Spectrum Of
Deeply Embedded Processor Families

LINUX EXPO -- MONTREAL -- April 12, 2000 -- Rt-Control today announced
the release of the latest uClinux system builder kit, version 2.0.38.1
pre 5. This new release adds support for the ARM7TDMI and i960
microprocessors, providing multiple platform support for deeply embedded
microprocessors. Previous versions of the uClinux operating system only
offered support for the Motorola 68k chip family.

uClinux is a Linux-based operating system targeted at microprocessors
that do not support memory management units (MMU). These chips are commonly
found in deeply embedded devices such as POS units, UPC scanners and
hand-held PDAs for industrial automation and inventory control.

This release of uClinux marks an important milestone. Together with the
community, Rt-Control has contributed ports and patches to the uClinux
code base for more than two years. This commitment to the Embedded
Microcontroller Linux project has made uClinux the most stable and widely
supported operating system for microcontrollers and Internet connected
devices.

"Deploying systems with uClinux makes sense. No other operating system
offers the same feature set across this many platforms that the embedded
system engineer is looking for," said Jeff Dionne, CTO of Rt-Control.
"Ease of development is a big issue. With our uClinux system builder
kit our customers tell us 'it just works'. Design wins will be popping
up everywhere."

Rt-Control is committed to the further development of uClinux to include
additional platforms. "We are delivering Linux to many strategic processor
families. In our most recent CD release of uClinux we include beta support
for ARM7TDMI, and i960. This builds on Rt-Control's existing open source
development," said Michael Durrant, CEO of Rt-Control. "uClinux is proven
technology and is featured in products like the Motorola ColdFire based
NETtel router by Moreton Bay of Australia and voice over IP products from
APLIO."

In March, Rt-Control agreed to be acquired by Lineo, Inc., the leading
developer of embedded Linux system software.
