While I applaud Lucent for releasing this product with a free license, I do have a couple of comments on the text of the press release. First of all it mentions David Coe as a Debian developer. At the moment David is not a developer, but has applied to become a developer. We fully expect to see him become a full developer in the near future, however at the moment he can not speak for Debian. Secondly, the text said that Debian (as well as other Linux distributors) is planning to `incorporate Lucent Libsafe into their software releases.' This raises expectation that we might not meet. David Coe is planning to make a Debian package of LibSafe which will be added to the distribution. However it will be an optional package, which means that people will be able to use LibSafe to add some security to their system if so wanted, but we won't make it an essential part of the distribution.
