The Franklin Institute Science Museum Selects LinuxForce.net ... Again
The Franklin Institute Science Museum has chosen LinuxForce to service and
support several essential systems providing educational programming.
Philadelphia, PA- May 8, 2000- The Franklin Institute Science Museum in
Philadelphia has contracted with LinuxForce.net to provide Internet solutions,
software solutions, custom programming, disaster planning and recovery
services, and general consulting services. The one year contract involves
services for 9 separate systems at the Institute. LinuxForce will provide
audits of the systems, immediate remediation where needed and on-going systems
administration services. There is a full range of operating systems covered by
the contract. The predominant one is the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. There
are also SGI Challenge and Windows NT servers involved.
Charles B. Fleming President of LinuxForce said "It is gratifying when a
prestigious institution such as the Franklin Institute exhibits increasing
confidence in LinuxForce with each project we complete. We will now be
responsible for the maintenance of computer systems that operate educational
exhibits and programs that are used and viewed by thousands of visitors each
day of the year." Fleming added "The LinuxForce list of industrial and
commercial clients is now being expanded with the addition of institutional and
educational organizations. The reliability and economy afforded by Linux is
becoming broadly recognized in all sectors that have mission critical computing
requirements."
