From: Martin Baulig <martin@gnome.org> To: gnome-announce-list@gnome.org Subject: Back from the 2nd Braunschweiger LinuxDays Date: 15 May 2000 22:36:02 +0200 Hi guys, so I'm back from the 2nd Braunschweiger LinuxDays now which happend this weekend at the University of Braunschweig / Germany :) They attended about 1400 people in total, but that's only a first estimate (maybe www.braunschweiger.linuxtage.de will have more detailed information soon). At this place, I'd also like to thank Jens Finke who helped me a lot at the booth - most of the time he was demonstrating GNOME to people while I was answering developer questions and talking to people. Also, this was the first time at all that we demonstrated Nautilus and Evolution to a bigger public here in Germany - and I think I also did the first german talk about Bonobo. Btw. we made some pictures from our booth which we'll publish soon - just look at my German GNOME Homepage in about 1-2 weeks (http://www.home-of-linux.org/gnome/germany/). Finally, I think I can say that it was a whole lot of work getting this event organized, especially the last few days, but it was worth it and it helped a lot promoting GNOME in Germany. Oh, nearly forgot to mention: In case you want to see more GNOME in Germany, feel free to come to our FSF/GNOME booth at Linux@Work in Frankfurt on May 18. -- Martin Baulig martin@gnome.org (private) baulig@suse.de (work) _______________________________________________ gnome-announce-list mailing list gnome-announce-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-announce-list
