MEETING NOTICE
==============
Central Ohio Linux Users Group
Wednesday, May 31th., 1900 to 2100 local
Meeting Presentation
====================
The main presentation - Several quickies:
Richard Threadgill of Turbo Linux will be present, and present
of the benefits of the distribution. The cluster, and Asian character
set support are interesting aspects of the product in which members
of the group have expressed an interest;
Jim Wildman has offered to demonstrate VMWare and Wine;
A tricked out multi-media X setup will be demonstrated by a
list member, whose name I cannot immediately lay hands on. The
underlying request sought: "A tweaked out amped up desktop/mulimedia
linux demo. I am sure someone on the list edits audio, knows about
the cool games, etc., etc.," and
We've had a request for DNS setup. Absent a volunteer, Phil H
will use the 'h2n' tool and some shell scripting to set up a simple
set of DNS files for local nameservice provision behind a residential
firewall. Please review the DNS HOW-TO -- see, e.g.:
http://www.ssc.com/mirrors/LDP/HOWTO/DNS-HOWTO.html
As always (both with the informal nature of the group's
`management' and the vaguries of the presenters' schedules),
the agenda and content are subject to change.
Additionally, the _formal_ meeting ends at the stated time.
We've noticed that folks continue to stand around in the parking lot
for _hours_. We'll probably adjourn to a local watering hole,
to slake thirst and sit down.

on facility availabity, with common-sense relocation in the

The webpage always has a link to a map to the upcoming meeting
site. See: http://stones.wcbe.org/~COLUG/meetings.php3
Meeting Schedule
================
The NEXT meeting is scheduled on Saturday, June 24,
2000 from 13:00 to 15:00 local -- Location is up in the air --
we've pretty well outgrown the kindly donated TeamAmerica site,
although we continue to 'shoe-horn' in until a suitable
replacement is found.
