I'm looking to pass that responsibility to a new maintainer. These programs are mature and I don't expect any major new features in them, ever. It's mostly a matter of accepting and testing bug fixes. You need to know: C, awk, ncurses, TCL/TK. All the configuration methods have their fans and you can't reduce the work by killing any of them yet. If you are interested in the role, send me a letter. If I get several letters I'll pick someone in 1 week, on 25 March 2000. Naturally Linus has to approve all maintainerships. Sigh; I should have written this note several months ago! My apologies in particular to Andrzej Krzysztofowicz, who has written a lot of patches I never took time to review.
