As Linux continues to be embraced as a serious rival to Microsoft Windows, with independent analysts - IDC - predicting Linux usage to grow by 25% annually until 2003, SuSe and Mailbox Internet are well positioned to promote its benefits both at corporate and end user level. Joel Rowbottom, managing director of Mailbox, said, "From the senior IT director, to the embryonic internet company and the end user, reliability and stability are the key features demanded of an operating system. Both SuSE and Mailbox are fundamentally committed to ensuring both through the Linux platform. As a result, our customers can be assured of a multi-user, multi-tasking operating system which is reliable and versatile at relatively low deployment costs." "This partnership strengthens the synergy that already exists between SuSE and Mailbox Internet, " said Ruediger Berlich, SuSE's UK managing director. "It opens up greater opportunities for us to demonstrate the unrivalled stability of the Linux operating system amongst organisations with a remote and on-site ISP requirement. It also allows Mailbox Internet to capitalise on our strengthening position amongst desktop users." The stability of the open source platform will be among one of the many issues being discussed on June 1st at The European Linux Conference hosted by SuSE at the Olympia Conference Centre. Mailbox Internet and SuSE will also be demonstrating the Linux capabilities from their stands 117 and 119 at Linux Expo 2000 on June 1st and 2nd at Olympia Hall 2. -ends- For further information: Rupert Warwick/Liz Aistrop Fox Parrack Hirsch Tel: 020 7436 4336 Email: rwarwick@fphcom=2Ecom Email: laistrop@fphcom=2Ecom Rupert Warwick PR Manager Fox Parrack Hirsch Communications Threeways House 40-44 Clipstone Street London W1P 7EA Telephone +44 (0)20 7436 4336 Facsimile +44 (0)20 7436 4224 Rwarwick@fphcom.com www.fphcom.com
