Client companies use its web site as their Internet sales and support channel for this region. LA (http://LinuxAlianza.com and http://LinuxFiesta.com) is a Spanish and Portuguese Web multi-site consisting of dozens of regional and business-focused web sites with complete coverage of all 20 Latin American countries. Linux Alianza will be the authoritative source of information for technical and business end-users in the region for the Linux and Open-Source technologies. It focuses on the technical and non-technical end-users of operating systems and applications. Initially, LA will have almost 80 sites in three languages with only a few in English; about 25 of these sites will be country and region specific, 12 in the business and general news categories, 14 in the ecommerce area, 14 in the readership areas, and the remaining 10 or so for Alianza business and business services. There will be about 22 User Group domain-name sites. Products and Services Content and Conversations: Business and general: This content is primarily news, events, reviews, etc. to attract business and business-technical readership. Conversations are free-form discussions of the above items as well as specifically constructed controversies to provoke discussion. Community services including User Group site hosting, Job Board, Project hosting (software development, documentation development, volunteers bulletin board), Community sites (affiliated sites which we control) and Mailing lists. NewsWire, Bulletins and Teletype: The Linux and open source markets in Latin America currently have no known News Wire service. A News Wire is a well-known site where companies can post their press releases and other notices for public display for a fee. It is also freely available for journalists and other business and public clients to browse. The initial pricing for the News Wire service is as follows: A) $95 per PR which includes: * posting on LA's Headlines/News sites for two days, * inclusion in PR bulletin for two days, * inclusion in News Bulletin for one day, * inclusion in LA's news feeds, * searchable in archives for 1 year. B) $145 per PR which includes: * translation into one language, * all of item A. C) $195 per PR which includes: * translation into two languages, * all of item A. · The News Bulletin service will automatically send news items to subscribers, businesses and individuals, according to selected criteria. · A News Teletype service automatically places news items on other sites, gaining link-backs to and publicity from the service. A list of journalists will be composed to which will be sent public relations and business information on a regular basis. Banner ads cost $30 per 1,000 impressions. Corporate Sponsorships, extended advertising programs designed to solve a targeting problem, will soon be available. Sponsorships allow a vendor to advertise only on a specific site and guarantee a certain percentage of impressions the vender will receive. E-commerce sales by third parties are charged sales commissions based on volume of goods and services sold.
