    Tk has always been a bit problematic on the Macintosh, meaning
    there is no Python GUI toolkit that works entirely satisfactorily
    across Windows, Unix, MacOS. Jim Ingham reported that he's
    planning to begin a MacOS X port of Tk using the Quartz drawing
    model:

    Python-URL now catches up with ActiveState's recent Python-related
    announcements:
    - They'll be shipping binary installations of
      Python (ActivePython), much as they've done
      for the Perl world;
        http://activestate.com/Products/ActivePython.html)
    - They're developing two IDEs for Python -- one, called Komodo,
      based on Mozilla, and one, called Visual Python, which will
      be a plugin for Microsoft's Visual Studio;
