LinuxPPC releases Netscape Communicator 4.7.3 for the Linux/PowerPC platform

New release underlines LinuxPPC's importance to Linux on PowerPC.

June 20, 2000 --- LinuxPPC Inc., developers of the most popular Linux
distribution for the PowerPC processor, has released a new version of
Netscape Communicator, the widely-used World Wide Web browser. The new
version, 4.7.3, incorporates security fixes involving cookies, SSL (secure
sockets layer), and fixes many bugs in previous versions. This new version
of Communicator was ported to LinuxPPC by LinuxPPC's Daniel Puertas, the
company's chief technical officer, who ports Netscape Communicator to
Linux on the PowerPC.

LinuxPPC users and users of other PowerPC Linux systems can upgrade to
4.7.3 by downloading the RPM from LinuxPPC's FTP server, removing the
previous version of Netscape Communicator, and then installing the new
version. The commands are detailed below. The new Communicator can be
downloaded at:
<ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/linuxppc-2000/software/netscape-4.7-3.ppc.rpm>.
