LINEO BECOMES A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE OPEN GROUP REAL-TIME AND EMBEDDED
SYSTEMS FORUM


LINDON, Utah - Aug. 4, 2000 - Lineo™, Inc., today announced it has become
a founding member of The Open Group Real-time and Embedded Systems Forum,
an organization designed to advance standards development based on real-time
and embedded systems software. The forum will work with industry groups
as an impartial standards integrator to review existing real-time and
embedded specifications and requirements in order to avoid duplication
and redundancy of effort. 

Tim Bird, Chief Technology Officer for Lineo, Inc., will be an active
member of the new forum and will represent Lineo at all forum meetings
and quarterly conferences where Lineo will have the opportunity to vote
on forum decisions and gain access to snapshots, specifications, standards
and requirements documents.

Lineo is a leader in the development of real-time and embedded Linux software
