Announcement: Linmodem-mini-howto document

We would like to call your attention to the Linmodem-mini-howto
document draft version 0.20, which can be found at

html: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto.html
1-file-html: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto-all.html
sgml: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto.sgml
tarball: http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto.tar.gz

You are receiving this announcement either because (a) your
name or site is referred to in the document, and we want to
make sure that that's okay with you, (b) you are subscribed
to the linmodem mailing list, or (c) we just thought you might
be interested.

Summary:
This document describes Linmodem (winmodem hardware) support
under Linux. At this point, such support is very limited,
almost exclusively in the form of manufacturer-created
but unsupported binary kernel modules. This document addresses
the special complications dealing with these binary modules
rather than with source code, particularly focusing on the
compromises of using mis-matched binaries and kernels.

We hope that you will find the time to read through the document,
and point out any errors, weak points, or blatant falsehoods you
might find.

Thank you for your attention,

Sean Walbran Marvin Stodolsky
