Basically a maintainance release, it features new versions of the well known tools and is available for the ppc architecture for the first time. http://freegis.org/order.en.html http://freegis.org/cd-1.0.4-linux-intel-contents.en.html The project still looks for ftp mirror sites. A bunch of things have been going on with the FreeGIS project: * GRASS 5.0beta8 has been released. This is another step towards the first stable 5.0 release. There are about 18 developers with write access to the CVS server. * The entries on http://freegis.org have grown so fast that the site will have to be redesign as soon as possible. The dynamic is hard to track, but free software components for GIS systems are on the rise. I cannot even start to list the nice software packages available now, you will need to wade through the long list or wait for the restructuring of the site. * We have about 70 member on the freegis mailinglist know. * Intevation GmbH and Frank Warmerdam will work on a sourcexchange project to build a bridge from OSSIM (www.remotesensing.org/ossim) to GRASS.
