From: John Ousterhout <ouster@scriptics.com> Newsgroups: comp.lang.tcl Subject: More Tcl Core Team discussions Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2000 13:24:06 -0700 In case you're interested, there are a couple of proposals under discussion by the Tcl Core Team relating to the mechanisms we'll use for fixing bugs and adding new features to Tcl. One proposal describes a system of "maintainers" who have primary responsibility for pieces of the core, plus a patches mailing list used to submit and process code changes. The other proposal describes a "TIP" (Tcl Improvement Proposal) mechanism for describing new features. You can read about both of these proposals at the Tcl Core Team home page: http://dev.scriptics.com/community/coreteam/ If you have comments, I'd suggest sending them directly to the Tcl Core Team at tclcore@ajubasolutions.com. If you want to learn about additional proposals in the future, I'd suggest checking the above Web page occasionally (eventually I hope we'll get a better notification system in place, but it won't happen for at least a while...). ________________________________________________________________________ John Ousterhout 650-210-0102 tel Chairman and Chief Technology Officer 650-230-4070 fax Ajuba Solutions ouster@ajubasolutions.com http://www.ajubasolutions.com
