Tuxtops Releases its Long-Awaited Debian
Easy-Install Software for Laptops!

Sunnyvale, CA September, 2000-- Tuxtops, leading the pack in the Linux
mobile computer market, is proud to offer its new Debian software release
specially tuned for laptops. Now you can buy one of the company's premiere
pre-configured laptops with Debian, or simply purchase the standalone
software if you already own a notebook.

Debian GNU/Linux (www.debian.org) is the most widely hailed non-commercial
distribution of the trememdously popular free operating system, GNU/Linux.
Tuxtops has selected Debian as a key component of its offering, prompted by
vociferous demand from its customer base. This release marks another major
advance towards Tuxtops' ultimate goal, to make the mobile Linux computing
experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for end users, businesses,
and systems administrators.

The Tuxtops Debian release finally makes this fantastic open source
operating system available with a custom compiled kernel 2.2.17 (complete
with .config file), PCMCIA 3.1.20, and specially tuned XFree86
configuration. Netscape and StarOffice 5.2 (the newest version of Sun
Microsystem's Microsoft Office compatible office suite) come preloaded. Add
to that a free copy of O'Reilly's Learning Debian/GNU Linux with every
pre-configured laptop purchased, and anyone is ready to run Debian right
out of the box.

Tuxtops' Debian software is available today at their newly redesigned
website, www.Tuxtops.com/software.html. Simply choose the manufacturer and
model you own from the list of supported models. Don't see your hardware
listed? You can vote right on the site for your model, Tuxtops will tally
the votes and work hard to make offerings for the most popular ones
available as soon as possible.

Not quite ready to give up on Windows yet? Tuxtops has your solution too,
their Debian install software can automatically shrink pre-existing Windows
95, 98 or Millennium and create a dual-boot system. The company will be
exhibiting at the Atlanta Linux Showcase (booth #209) October 12-14, 2000,
and will feature their new easy-install software during their Install Fest
and Stump the Chump contest.

Whether you're looking for a pre-configured laptop guaranteed to run Debian
impeccably, or a software package that takes the frustration and hassle out
of loading this operating system on your mobile computer, Tuxtops has
exactly what you're looking for.

About Tuxtops, Inc.: Tuxtops is a company whose mission is to make Linux
the premier operating system for laptop users, distributors, and
manufacturers. In addition to offering professional quality Linux laptops
and fast loading software, Tuxtops is committed to further developing open
source software to improve the state of Linux on laptops in general. "We've
been burned by the overnight install nightmare, where after eight hours and
two litres of cola, drivers still won't load. It should be 20 minutes and
a cup of tea, and with Tuxtops, it is."
 says company CEO, Graham Hine.
