Grossman has released ProQuake 1.02, this version also introduces a pq_draqfps console variable. ID was checking for a message and if the packet size was zero then it was an error, then preventing any more connections. Yet another ID Software bug. :) Again, this has only been fixed in ProQuake as far as I know. http://proquake.ai.mit.edu Lance Vavricka On Wed, 1 Nov 2000, alex medvedev wrote: > hallo, > > sorry if it is a known thing... > > running the following command on a quake1 server's ip address > > # nmap -sU -p 26000 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > > in most cases will "crash" the quake1 server program. > attempts to connect to or query it with qstat will result in "no > response" message. > > # nmap --version --> nmap V. 2.3BETA14 > > quake2 or quake3 servers were not tested > > bye, > > -alexm >
