Subject: ASUS A7V Boot disk

Hi,

If you have trouble installing SuSE Linux on above mentioned mainboard,
you should try to use the following boot disk. You can download the image
from

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/7.0/kernel/promise/eide

and mirrors. Dump the image on a floppy disk using RAWRITE (if you use
DOS/Windows) or with the following command (insert a blank floppy disk):

dd if=eide of=/dev/fd0 bs=9k

If you were able to install SuSE Linux with this boot disk, make sure to
replace the installed kernel image with the one on the floppy disk using
the following commands (as root):

mcopy a:linux /boot/vmlinuz
lilo

Enjoy!
