Linux WANPIPE version 2.1.5 with Bridging support ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ November 21 2000: New features: o Ethernet Bridging over Frame Relay ================================== We now support RFC compliant ethernet bridging over Frame Relay. This allows logical modeling of an ordinary Ethernet LAN over a frame Relay network. Because the bridging is completely transparent, everything applicable to a LAN just works, including DHCP and support for all network protocols that Ethernet supports. Bridging is particularly useful when a Linux server provides the back end concentrator for an ADSL DSLAM. Contact me, David Mandelstam, if you want to know more about this application. We have incorporated the original Frame Relay Bridging code written by Mark Wells and Kristian Hoffmann into the wanpipe drivers, and have included it in the configuration options and management. WanipeEthernetBridging.pdf in the WANPIPE distribution describes the implementation. Please NOTE, this is for 2.2.X Kernels and above only.
