I sat in the queue for some time, which seemed quite lengthy until I actually started the NM process. Almost as soon as I started the process, I had let time slip by and after a week or so my AM sent me a message saying essentially "are you there?" Suddenly I see why this can take a while. Personally I am quite gratified to see some detail in the process. Several of the questions I have been given have been subtle enough that I wanted to think about them some before answering. I have always appreciated the care put into the distribution in general, and the NM process is seeming to reflect that. Last the process has the feel of being collaborative to me in the sense that I don't fear that I will "fail" and be disallowed membership. Rather I expect that if I make mistakes, they will become short discussion topics with my AM before we go on to the next level. In short if I do my homework and progress, I fully expect to finish the process. One practical point: Someone pointed out that by definition, you won't get an AM assigned to you until you have reached "Maximum days". It would have been easier to wait if I had realized this at the time rather than thinking "I have been past the average for some time now..." Perhaps I should suggest that the web page make this fact a little clearer.
