During his six years at Sun, he also led Sun's Asia Pacific market penetration for consumer and embedded devices, wireless and broadband service providers, smartcards and digital television. Prior to Sun, Hakim was with Unisys for more than 10 years in various sales and marketing roles, including director of Asia Pacific sales where he was responsible for revenue and setting up joint ventures in many Asian countries. Hakim holds a bachelor of science degree in electronic engineering and computer science with honors from Bangalore University in India and has attended the Executive Management Program at Stanford University.
