UCLINUX 2.4 KERNEL NOW AVAILABLE 



TORONTO - Jan. 5, 2000 - Lineo, Inc., a leading innovator in embedded
Linux solutions today announced the availability of the uClinux™ 2.4 kernel.
The availability of this operating system for microcontrollers follows
immediately on the release of the Linux 2.4 kernel by Linus Torvalds.


uClinux is available through GPL and can be downloaded at cvs.uclinux.org.

uClinux is an open source project funded and maintained by Lineo. It was
made popular by its ability to run on processors without memory management
hardware and with a typical kernel footprint of only 512k bytes or less.
Lineo's development gives uClinux users access to numerous new features
of the Linux 2.4 kernel, some of which include: USB support, IrDA (infrared
data transmission) and QoS (quality of service) support which combine
to increase the strength of the networking capabilities. 

In addition to undertaking development work on the uClinux 2.4 kernel,
