Subject:      Extended CFP IEEE SMC IA Workshop at West Point

The call for papers for the IEEE SMC IA Workshop at West Point has been
extended to 2 February 2001, and this second call for papers is going out to
further entice authors.  Completed papers are due March 21, 2001.

The following topics have been identified as key areas for the conference
(other topics welcome):

 *Intrusion detection and response
 *Cryptography and its applications
 *Data and information fusion
 *Computer security
 *Cyber ethics and policy
 *Planning and decision support tools
 *Military and government research, development, and application efforts

The United States Military Academy (USMA), the University of Virginia
Systems and Information Engineering Department, and the IEEE Systems, Man
and Cybernetics (SMC) Society are pleased to announce the Call for Papers
for the Second Annual Information Assurance Workshop from 5-6 June 2001 at
West Point, New York.  Extended abstracts are due by December 22, 2000.

 The Workshop will be two full days with three parallel sessions. We expect
 to have approximately 300 individuals attend. Dr. Gene Spafford from Purdue
 will be one of the keynote speakers, and we have invited a senior official
 from the National Security Agency to be a second keynote speaker. Papers
 for this year's workshop will be published in the Workshop Proceedings, as
 they were last year.  In addition, some authors will be invited to submit
 extended versions of workshop papers to Transactions of IEEE SMC Part A for
 publication.
