Subject: ImageStream's Carrier Pro Router Is Finalist at Linux World Expo
Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2001 13:48:08 -0500

(Plymouth, Indiana - January 29th, 2001) ImageStream Internet Solutions has
announced that its next-generation Linux-based router, the Carrier Pro, has
been chosen as a "Best of Show - Hardware" finalist at this month's
LinuxWorld Expo in New York City. The Carrier Pro is a carrier class router
with PowerPC processors, dual CompactPCI buses, hot-swap WAN cards, H.110
telephony bus, redundant power supplies, and rear panel cabling.

According to ImageStream officials, the Carrier Pro uses the company's
driver component technology called SAND to implement a new Linux-based
distributed processing platform. The new platform will support add-on
PowerPC cards that provide dedicated packet processing for LAN and WAN
interfaces. The company claims that the Carrier Pro will be able to route at
least 50% more packets than a dual bus Cisco 7500 for about half the price.

ImageStream plans to ship the single-CPU version of the Carrier Pro in June.
Retail price for the base chassis will be $14,999. The company says that
dedicated packet processing engines and a 99.999% high-availability version
of the Carrier Pro will be available by the end of the year.

ImageStream is a supplier of Linux-based LAN and WAN solutions for small
